The Watchtower

This is the Ministry’s Prayer & Intercession Team!

Dedicated to seeking God continually and standing in the gap for the needs of our ministry and community through faithful prayer and intercession.

A watchtower serves as a strategic post where soldiers keep watch for any unusual activities or enemy advancements. When a soldier detects a threat, they alert the team to prepare for battle. Additionally, a watchtower acts as a guiding beacon for vessels at sea, much like an airport control tower for aircraft. With its elevated position, a watchtower provides a high vantage point, ensuring enhanced protection and surveillance. It is typically designed with 360-degree visibility, allowing those on watch to detect any movement or threats across the entire perimeter.

What Does It Mean for Us to Be Stationed at the Watchtower?

Being stationed at a watchtower means being assigned a position of vigilance, responsibility, and readiness. In our case, being stationed at the watchtower as the Wonder Workers Ministry’s intercession team represents a role of spiritual vigilance — those who are spiritually alert, discerning, and standing in prayer for others. It signifies a heightened sense of awareness, accountability, and preparedness.

What Is Expected of Us?

Spiritual Alertness

We must be prayerfully aware of God’s movements, enemy schemes, and the needs of individuals, the ministry, and nations. Just as a watchtower provides a high vantage point, we must maintain a posture of spiritual discernment, perceiving beyond the immediate circumstances.

Standing in the Gap

Like a soldier who sounds the alarm at the sight of danger, we are responsible for bringing urgent matters before God in prayer, pleading for mercy, protection, and divine intervention on behalf of the Ministry and others (Ezekiel 22:30).

Consistent Watchfulness

We are called to persevere in prayer, maintaining a continuous posture of intercession (1 Thessalonians 5:17). This involves praying for specific individuals, the Wonder Workers Ministry, leaders, nations, and critical global issues.

Declaring God’s Word

Just as a soldier warns of danger, intercessors speak forth God’s promises and declare His will over situations, countering spiritual attacks with the authority of Scripture.

Obedience and Sensitivity to the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit often reveals burdens for intercession. As intercessors, we must be sensitive to His leading, willing to pray even at inconvenient times, much like a soldier who must remain alert at all hours.

Protection and Warfare

We engage in spiritual warfare, covering individuals, families, the ministry, and regions in prayer, ensuring that the enemy’s plans are thwarted (Ephesians 6:12–18).

In Conclusion

Watchtowers are built from strong, impermeable stone, designed to withstand the elements and resist intrusion. Likewise, we should be firmly rooted, unshaken, and steadfast — impermeable to the enemy, standing strong in faith and purpose.

“Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore have I set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame.” — Isaiah 50:7 (NIV)
